GreaseMunky User Guide

Downloading CSV Files to Your Device

Now that we have the file, we must install it on the iPhone in a place where GreaseMunky can access it. Any CSV files installed into the the GreaseMunky accessible space will be available for import. We will use iTunes to install the CSV file on the iPhone. Follow these steps:

  1. First, plug your iPhone into your computer using the USB cable that came with the phone.
  2. Start the iTunes application on your computer.
  3. On the left side of the iTunes window, you will see sections, one of which is labeled "Devices".

This section has an entry for the iPhone you plugged in with the USB cable. Select your iPhone or device from the list of devices on the left hand side of the iTunes window.
  4. After selecting your device, a row of tabs appear across the top of the main content portion of the iTunes window.

    Select the tab labeled "App".
  5. You will now see a list of applications you have installed on your iPhone in the top left portion of the main content section of iTunes window. Below this list, near the bottom of the content window, you will see a section labeled "File Sharing" and under that you will see a section labeled "Apps". All applications that are capable of accepting file transfers from your computer are listed in this section.

Ensure GreaseMunky is selected in the "Apps", as shown above. Once selected, you will see all the files already in the GreaseMunky shared area displayed in a section just right of the "Apps" section. This section containing all the GreaseMunky shared files should be labeled "GreaseMunky Documents". You may see some images, these are the pictures used for your vehicles. You will also see any previously installed CSV files unless they have been deleted from within GreaseMunky.
  6. Click the add button to add a new CSV file to the GreaseMunky shared area on your iPhone. You will be presented with a standard file chooser where you can select the file you want to make available to GreaseMunky. Once you have chosen the appropriate file, the file name will appear in list of files labeled "GreaseMunky Documents".

Now the CSV file will be synced with the device, and will be available to GreaseMunky for import.
